Queen Emma cake recipe?
Quote · 1360 days ago · 0 people like this ·

I lived in Hawaii as a kid and my parents moved back about two years ago. I love Queen Emma cake and I have a best friend named Emma who is going through a rough time so I thought it would be nice to make her the cake since we can't get it here only I can't find a recipe anywhere. I thought this might be a good place to ask. Any ideas?

Thanks so much

Chantellabelle, can you believe I'm born and raised here and yet had never heard the term "Queen Emma Cake" until you posted it here? I had to google it!

Now that I've seen it, I realize I've had it several times but didn't realize that was its name. ;) You're sweet for wanting to make it for your friend!

Anyway, giving this a bump to see if any of the other mamas may indeed have a good recipe for this. Wink

I've never heard of this cake either! Is it a certain bakery that makes it?

I actually didn't realize it had a name either until my mom pointed it out. I think broke da mouth cookies is famous for it but i've definitely seen it other places too (Malama market i'm pretty sure). If you've never had some you need to try it immediately, its amazing.

@poikai had mentioned trying Queen Emma Cake from Dee Lite bakery -->

According to this site, Queen Emma Cake contains Lilikoi, Guava, and Haupia all rolled into one big cake. Wow, sounds complicated!

Oh I looked at the pics and am getting hungry for it!

What a sweet idea to make her cake with her same name to cheer her up!

I think the links that lihinggirl posted should get you pretty close.  Good luck!!
